U15 Netball End of Season Match Report

U15A Team Netball Report

The 2014/15 season has been a mixed season for the u15 A’s. Having played 15 we came away with 2 wins and a draw. However despite these results I am always amazed by the astounding passion and depth of talent that lie in this team and the entire u15’s squad. Every girl was committed and really wanted to do their best which I am sure will bode well for the future as we progress through to senior netball. We started the season off strong with a comfortable win against Dodderhill 22-11. We were unable to retain momentum but in our third match after a blinding third quarter we pulled off a draw against King’s high Warwick . But for me the highlight of the season has to be our victory over Cheltenham Ladies College. We knew they were going to be tough opposition yet we played better than ever before managing to pull off a 21-17 victory with every single player putting in one hundred percent. I can honestly say I have never been prouder.

There are so many girls that I would like to mention for their brilliant contribution to the team and making the season so thoroughly enjoyable however there are so many I find it too hard to pick out a few. Every single player that represented the team this year was a real attribute, whether they played once or all fifteen times and I hope that they all continue with netball into the future. Finally a special thanks must go to coaches Mrs Davis and Miss Teesdale without whom our netball skills would not have improved nearly as much nor would the season have been anywhere near as enjoyable.

U15B Team Netball Report

The U15B's have had a storming season, and as the captain of the team, I am thrilled to have been a captain of such a brilliant team of girls. Having played nine matches throughout the two terms, the B team won 6 of their matches, drew 1 and lost 2. The B's recorded wins against Pate's Grammar, Malvern St James, Kings in a friendly and both Bromsgrove and Kings in a triangular tournament, where we came home as winners. The final win was the last but one match of the season against WGS who we beat 30-16, a score we were unbelievably proud off. Our draw was against Malvern College in the most competitive match of the season, the final score was sixteen all, with Malvern scoring the equalising goal in the last five seconds. We lost to Cheltenham Ladies College, a match where unfortunately we had key players missing and we also lost our friendly fixture to Bromsgrove. There are so many girls who have completely and utterly shined this season! Ellie Carey has been a brilliant team leader, an unstoppable force at goal attack, she has earned the most player of the matches throughout the season and she rightly earned a call up to the A team at the end of the season. Jane has also been another key player in the B team, earning the second call up into the A's at the end of the season. Lucy Pritchard and Emily Taylor both joined the team and the school only this year and they have been fantastic in spirit and commitment to Netball. Cerys Dolloway has provided laughs and support for the team and a fantastic talent at being able to shoot almost from anywhere in the D and get the ball through the net has emerged. Nicola Ralph has also been brilliant, possibly the only girl on the team who seems to blend Hockey skills with Netball skills, she has shone in her last ever netball season, notably against Malvern College when defending a competitive player. Finally, Lauren must be mentioned for the commitment she has shown throughout the season, as she has played throughout tough matches with an illness and she has been very reluctant to leave the court. Lastly, a huge thank you on behalf of myself and the team to Mrs Davis, who has been a fantastic coach and supporter to us throughout the past two years, and I am sure we will miss her coaching when we move into the senior years.
